SSgA adds to European product team

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the Boston-based investment management arm of State Street Corporation, has announced five additions to its European product engineering team in London.

Michael Arone, a former senior portfolio manager at SSgA's global active quantitative equity team in Boston, has become head of product engineering for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Brett Collins, a product engineer in the global enhanced equities group, has also relocated from Boston. Collins will provide research and portfolio management support for enhanced equity strategies. He will report to Jim Hopkins, regional head of product engineering for North America.

Philip Barleggs has been appointed vice-president in the global fixed-income team. He will be responsible for product development and coverage of SSgA's global fixed-income strategies throughout EMEA. Barleggs joins from London-based investment manager Investment Insight, where he headed the team of fixed-income product specialists.

Jennifer Hole - formerly a cash strategist and product manager at Barclays Global Investors - joins as a product engineer. She will be responsible for SSgA's global cash management strategies throughout EMEA. Both Hole and Barleggs will report to Arone.

Monica Fan has been appointed senior currency product engineer in SSgA's global currency team. Fan was previously global head of currency strategy at RBC Capital Markets. She will report jointly to Collin Crownover, head of currency management, and to Arone.
