Lazard Asset Management appoints ex derivatives strategist head of fixed income

Lazard Asset Management has appointed Steven Blitz as head of global fixed income. He joins from wealth management group Offitbank and was previously a derivatives product strategist at Salomon Brothers.

Blitz served as New York-based Offitbank’s chief strategist and chief economist. He joined in 1989 and was responsible for $4 billion of assets. From 1982 until 1989, Blitz worked as a derivatives product strategist and technical bond analyst at Salomon Brothers.

Norman Eig, managing director of Lazard Asset Managament, said Blitz has an outstanding track record and will strengthen the fixed income group.
