Former CFO of JP Morgan Investment Management joins Third Point

Jeffrey Trongone, formerly chief financial officer (CFO) and managing director of JP Morgan’s asset management business, has joined Third Point Management Company, a New York-based alternative investment firm with $1.3 billion in assets under management.

Trongone will serve as chief operating officer (COO) and will focus on risk management, compliance, marketing, business development, client services and overall business management. He replaces Lloyd Blumberg, who is now CFO.

Trongone most recently served as chairman of a private arbitration panel and has worked with leading law firms, bankers and consultants in the hedge fund industry. He also served as CFO, COO and managing director of Chancellor Capital Management, now known as the Invesco Private Capital Group, a New York-based venture capital firm.
