RBS expands Italian securitisation team

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Fulvio Pelargonio as director of securitisation, based in Milan.

Pelargonio joins RBS' financial markets unit, having previously spent 10 years at Monte dei Paschi di Siena, where he was head of securitisation. Prior to that, Pelargonio had held senior positions in a wide range of roles in the capital markets division of MPS Group. He reports to Mark Hickey, head of structured capital markets, Italy.

RBS, which currently has three people working in the securitisation department in Italy, has sought to expand its Italian business this year. Hickey said the bank sees continued opportunities in Italy this year, as more corporates enter a market which has traditionally been dominated by government and financial securitisations.
