Bear Stearns names Aisola head of convertibles research

Bear Stearns has hired Rao Aisola from Morgan Stanley as head of convertible bond research in New York.

Aisola was a senior analyst covering telecommunications and equipment, technology, retail and convertible arbitrage at Morgan Stanley. He has also worked as a proprietary interest rate derivatives trader at Citigroup.

In his new position, Aisola will lead a team of researchers that will focus on developing trading strategies to maximise returns in convertible arbitrage and capital structure arbitrage between high-yield bonds and equities.

Michael Lloyd, head of convertible bond trading at Bear Stearns, said: “He brings expertise in derivatives, arbitrage and fundamental analysis, a combination which is rare on Wall Street.”
