Wachovia hires Litke as new head of market risk

Charlotte-based Wachovia has lured Adam Litke from Barclays to become its new head of market risk, based in New York.

Litke was head of capital market risk in the Americas for Barclays, as well as head of market risk for global financing.

At Wachovia he will report to chief risk officer David Gaines. He will be responsible for managing market risk across the company, including quantitative risk management, market data analysis and direct management of market risk.

“Adam brings a tremendous amount of market risk management experience to Wachovia, along with a solid background in investment banking and capital markets,” said Gaines. “In his new role, he will bring together several different market risk management disciplines and enhance this important function at Wachovia."
