SG names Wilson head of metals research

David Wilson has joined Société Générale as head of metals research.

He arrives from Dudinka, where he has been a senior economist at Russian metal mining firm Norilsk Nickel since 2005.

In his new role he will be based in London and report to Frédéric Lasserre, global head of commodities research. Wilson replaces Stephen Briggs, who left to pursue opportunities outside the bank.
