JP Morgan Chase appoints equity derivatives co-head in Asia

JP Morgan Chase has appointed Andrew Cooper as co-head of its Asia-Pacific equity capital and derivatives markets (ECDM) division, a position he will share with the incumbent Nick Andrews.

Cooper will transfer to Hong Kong shortly from London, where he is currently the bank’s head of UK, Scandinavian, Dutch and South African derivatives marketing. Prior to joining JP Morgan Chase in May 2000, Cooper worked at an equity derivatives joint venture between Crédit Agricole and Lazard called CAL FP, which specialised in structured equity derivatives.

Cooper replaces Paul Frost-Smith, who is returning to the UK for personal reasons. Both Cooper and Andrews, who joined from Credit Suisse First Boston in May, will report to Carlos Hernandez, global head of ECDM at JP Morgan Chase.
