FNX appoints new technology officer

FNX, the Pennsylvania-based risk management provider, has promoted Andrew Vickers to the role of chief technology officer. In this new position, Vickers assumes responsibility for all technical aspects of the software services developed by FNX.

Vickers has filled a variety of roles at FNX since joining in 1998, including re-engineering the technical architecture of its Sierra FX Cash system, and introducing a number of innovative architecture and design features into the entire Sierra System.

Vickers joined FNX from ABN Amro, where he was project manager for the Dutch bank's foreign exchange options globalisation project. In this role, he was responsible for business process re-design, operations management and technology analysis.

He also spent nine years as a currency options trader, first at Continental Illinois National Bank and then at ABN Amro as deputy head of forex options trading.
