BNP Paribas builds a US listed options and ETF team

BNP Paribas has hired Joe Waskas, David O’Shaughnessy and Jason Brus to form part of its New York-based listed options and exchange-traded funds (ETF) team.

Waskas will join as a managing director and head of US sales for the group, and report to Todd Steinburg, head of US equities and derivatives. O’Shaughnessy will join as a managing director and a senior listed options and ETF salesperson, and report to Waskas. Brus, a senior listed options trader, will report to Greg Hurly, head of listed single-stock options trading. “We have put together a world-class team on the listed options and ETF sales and trading side that complements our existing OTC strengths,” said Steinburg.

Prior to his move to BNP Paribas, Waskas was in charge of listed options and ETF sales at Credit Suisse. Before that, he worked at Deutsche Bank. O’Shaughnessy previously worked at Susquehanna, where he was in a senior sales position for the past four years. Before that, he worked at Deutsche Bank, NatWest and Morgan Stanley. Like Waskas, Brus joins from Credit Suisse.
