Industry veteran quits CFTC

Thorpe spent the past 18 months modernising the practices of commodities futures trading in the US. She was a leading voice for self-regulatory practice in the futures industry, and also brought about greater efficiency in order execution.

In her new role in Dubai, she will spearhead efforts to develop trade securities, debt and derivatives on the DRI. The exchange plans to become a major new trading centre for the Middle East.
