StanChart names country heads of commodity trading

Standard Chartered has appointed country heads for its commodity trading and agribusiness (CTA) division in China, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ian Mote relinquished his role as head of CTA for UAE in Dubai in December and relocated to Shanghai to take on the same role for China. He replaces Rolf Berweger, who left Standard Chartered to pursue other outside interests. Mote has been with the bank for 13 years in a variety of roles in the structured trade finance team and within CTA, both in London and Hong Kong.

Subramanian Krishnamurthy replaces Mote in Dubai, having held various credit and relationship roles covering Iran, Kuwait, north Africa and UAE.

Nelson Batubara joins Standard Chartered in a newly created position as Indonesia head of CTA from the commodity finance team at Rabobank in Jakarta.

They all report to Willem Klaassens, Singapore-based global head of CTA.
