Burns named president of MR3 Systems

San Francisco-based technology company MR3 Systems has appointed John Burns, an ex-Barclays Metals managing director of derivatives finance, as its president.

The company described Burns as a “thought leader in the derivatives markets around global metals and commodities processing, trading, financing and arbitrage business".

“He has created and executed risk management programmes and structured and provided debt financing packages for a number of mining and other natural resource projects around the world,” said the company.

Burns was also previously chief financial officer of Drexel Burnham Lambert Commodity Finance in New York and London.
