Deutsche hires securitisation head for Asia ex-Japan

Gregory Park has joined Deutsche Bank as the Hong Kong-based managing director and head of securitisation for Asia excluding Japan.

He will start work on April 2. Park was previously head of asset securitisation at Calyon in Hong Kong and replaces Raj Shourie, who left in December.

Park will be responsible for the origination and execution of securitised deals – asset-backed securities (ABS) and mortgage-backed securities (MBS) – in Asia. He will report regionally to Sajid Javid, head of global credit trading for Asia, and globally to Richard D’Albert, global head of the securitised products and CDO group.

At Calyon, Park was responsible for all regional securitisation and structured capital-market transactions.

Annual volumes in Asia’s securitisation market (ABS and MBS) have exceeded $20 billion for the past three years, according to financial data provider Dealogic. In 2006, $21.6 billion of deals came to market, including the first ABS deals from China in May and August.
