Singapore Mercantile Exchange appoints new CEO

The Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SME), the commodity derivatives exchange, has named Thomas McMahon as its first chief executive.

Most recently, McMahon was president of the Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange and a former director of New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) in Asia. The Singapore Mercantile Exchange launched for business in July 2008.
