Fed appoints Cole as director of banking

The Federal Reserve Board has promoted Roger Cole to director of the banking supervision and regulation division.

Cole joined the board in 1979 and has held various positions, most recently as senior associate director since 2001. Before joining the board, Cole was a financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and worked at the Wyatt Company.

Cole replaces Rich Spillenkothen, who retired in June after 30 years of service.

Cole will represent the Board on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, and will be based in Washington.
