RBS builds e-commerce team

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has made a series of hires in its e-commerce division.

Sheefali Asija has joined in the role of director, product development, reporting to Martin Spurr, head of e-ventures at the bank. Asija was previously at HypoVereinsbank in London in a similar role. The bank has also signed Beatrice Bouju, who joined last week to market the bank's retail platform FXmicropay in Europe.

The hires add to others that the bank made over recent weeks to build its high-frequency trading capabilities, according to Spurr.
