Scherer appointed head of Deutsche think tank

Bernd Scherer, former head of Deutsche Asset Management’s investment solutions and overlay management group in Frankfurt, is taking up a new role as head of the firm’s quantitative strategies research centre in New York.

According to Deutsche the centre functions as the quantitative strategies group’s think tank, conducting advanced research, portfolio modelling, engineering and construction.

Janet Campagna, Deutsche Asset Management’s global head of quantitative strategies claimed the work of Scherer and his research team will be central to achieving the group’s goal of becoming the “leading provider of innovative quantitative investment solutions worldwide”.

Scherer, has had several technical papers published in RiskNews’s sister publication, Risk. His research is focused on asset valuation, portfolio construction, strategic asset allocation and asset/liability modelling.
