Vijayan quits Andersen to join Principia Partners

Anil Vijayan, former head of the straight-through processing practice in the consulting division of auditor Andersen, has moved to software vendor Principia Partners to shape the New Jersey-based company’s FAS 133 and IAS 39 derivatives accounting products strategy.

Vijayan was made a senior analyst at Principia and will be based in New Jersey. He was head of a 12-strong team at Andersen, advising clients on how to improve trade processing. During his two years at the firm, Vijayan worked on an enterprise data warehouse project to handle market and credit risk for the insurance industry.

“Anil’s broad market expertise and hands-on experience with financial accounting standards will be key to our efforts in developing the Principia system,” said Theresa Adams, a founding partner at Principia, which focuses on selling trade-processing systems to capital market institutions.

Before working for Andersen, Vijayan was a consultant in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ financial risk management practice, where he was involved in creating FAS 133 – a US accounting standard for booking derivatives – compliance systems.

Vijayan has also held trading and risk management consulting positions at Deutsche Bank and KPMG. He previously worked for SunGard as a manager of its risk practice for derivatives applications.
