UBS hires forex strategist in London

Mark McFarland has joined the foreign exchange strategy team at UBS in London as a senior strategist, a spokesperson for the bank told Risk’s sister publication FX Week .

He reports to London-based chief currency strategist Mansoor Mohi-uddin. McFarland has worked both as an economist and strategist covering fixed income, equities and currencies for G-10 and emerging markets. He has spent the past 10 years of his career in Asia, most recently as head of the Asian research team at reinsurance firm Swiss Re.

Meanwhile, John Reade has taken on responsibility for emerging markets currency strategy, also in London, in addition to his current role in commodity and precious metals strategy.

He reports to Peter Beaumont, global head of precious metals and corporate foreign exchange.
