BoA promotes Fall to head of EMEA

Bank of America has promoted William Fall, its head of global risk management, to president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He replaces Douglas Bowers, who has been based in London for the past eighteen months and is relocating back to the United States.

In this new role, Fall will report directly to Carter McClelland, president of Banc of America Securities. He will also continue to lead the global risk management group, reporting to Duncan Goldie-Morrison, head of the global markets group.

“EMEA is a key market for Bank of America, and William’s depth of experience and strong leadership capabilities will ensure that we continue to build successfully our business in the region and create further alignment with industry and product leaders in the US,” said McClelland.

Douglas Bowers will now be responsible for US and European corporate banking, middle market investment banking, Canada, Latin America, aviation finance and sport finance. He will also assume responsibility for the BofA's leasing unit, headed by Richard Harris. He will relocate from London to Charlotte, North Carolina to assume his new leadership role and will continue to report to Carter McClelland.

“These management changes are in keeping with our strategy of focusing our resources on key products and geographies, and ensuring that we fill key leadership roles with our most capable people,” added McClelland.
