EIIB expands capital markets team

Tom Toolis joins as a senior dealer covering foreign exchange and money markets. Toolis previously worked as a chief dealer at the Islamic Bank of Britain. Doug Bitcon has been appointed senior dealer in the debt capital markets team. He previously worked for South Africa’s Absa Bank, where he specialised in trading investment grade and emerging markets credit products, including bonds.Andy Graham also joins from Absa Bank to serve as a senior manager in structured products. Graham was previously a senior dealer at Absa in both London and Johannesburg, trading a variety of foreign exchange, interest rate and fixed-income products.Kazi Hussain joins as manager in the structured trade finance group, having previously worked for the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.Anouar Cedrati has been appointed manager in structured finance. Cedrati previously worked as a financial analyst at Standard & Poor’s in London, covering financial institutions operating in the Middle East and North Africa.John Weguelin, managing director at EIIB, said: “I am delighted to announce these new appointments, which are continued evidence of EIIB rolling out its business plan. Since our Financial Services Authority authorisation in March this year, we have been ahead of schedule and are now active in the sukuk, primary and secondary markets and Islamic trade finance.”
