Axa Asia Life names regional chief actuary and risk head

Axa Asia Life has promoted Mark Stamper to the position of regional chief actuary and head of regional strategic finance, a Hong Kong-based role incorporating the duties of regional chief risk officer.

He succeeds Simon Hirst, who is now Axa Asia Life’s chief financial officer for Hong Kong.

Stamper is now responsible for three main areas, including actuarial and risk management, corporate finance, and investment and asset/liability management.

He joined Axa in 2005 as regional product and pricing actuary and became regional head of products in 2006. Before joining Axa, Stamper was a marketing actuary at reinsurance company Swiss Re in London and Hong Kong.

Axa Asia Life is part of French insurance group Axa.
