Credit Agricole Indosuez boosts credit derivatives team in Asia

Credit Agricole Indosuez has hired Medes Ma as credit trading manager in its credit derivatives team in Hong Kong, according to Loïc Fery, head of credit derivatives Asia.

Reporting to Fery, Ma will trade credit derivatives in Asian and Japanese names. He is set to join the bank at the end of the month. Previously, Ma was a credit derivatives trader at HSBC in Hong Kong.

Credit Agricole Indosuez established its Asian credit derivatives team in September last year. And while it is currently the trading and structuring hub for the region, the bank is considering the addition of a small structuring team in Tokyo - where currently only a distribution team exists - later this year. “Activity is growing faster than expected, so we are looking at opportunities to increase the team, possibly in Hong Kong or possibly in Japan on the structuring side,” said Fery.
