BarCap expands Asia forex team

Barclays Capital has made a number of new hires for its Asian foreign exchange business, including Ivan Ferraroni as head of forex bank sales for the Asia-Pacific region.

Based in Singapore, Ferraroni will be responsible for forex flow and derivatives sales to bank clients. He will report to Lutfey Siddiqi, head of forex distribution and corporate forex for Asia-Pacific. Previously, he was head of forex sales and trading at Royal Bank of Scotland in Tokyo.

Eric Schatz has relocated from the bank's New York office, where he was head of real-money forex sales for the Americas, to Tokyo, where he will take on a newly created role as head of forex for Japan. Schatz will report to Siddiqi and Adrian McGowan, head of forex trading for Asia-Pacific.

Toshimasa Fujii has also joined the Tokyo office as a director in forex sales. Recently he was head of the Japanese business of forex technology firm Currenex. Naomi Koyama has moved from Merrill Lynch to be a director of forex sales for real-money clients in Japan.

Gaurav Tholia has joined from JP Morgan as a vice-president of forex derivatives sales to banks in Asia, excluding Japan. He will report to Ferraroni.
