Man promotes in Hong Kong and Switzerland

Man Investments, the London-based asset management arm of Man Group, has promoted Tim Rainsford to managing director for Asia-Pacific, in Hong Kong. He replaces Matt Dillon, who takes on a newly created role as head of global relationship services, based in Switzerland.

Rainsford will be responsible for developing and executing the firm's business strategies in the Asia-Pacific region. He was previously a director and the head of institutional sales at Man Investments Australia, which he joined in 2002.

A 17-year industry veteran, Rainsford has also worked for Jardine Fleming and JP Morgan, after Jardine Fleming merged with JP Morgan and Chase Manhattan.

Dillon opened Man's Tokyo office in 1992 and moved to Hong Kong in 1994, to lead the firm's business in the Asia-Pacific region.
