Lloyds TSB appoints new leveraged syndications head

David Whiteley has been hired to manage Lloyds TSB’s newly formed leveraged loan syndication team.

Whiteley was previously at Royal Bank of Scotland in London, where he was a managing director at the capital markets syndications team, focusing on leveraged finance transactions.

In his new role he remains in London, and reports to Ian Fitzgerald, Lloyds TSB’s new head of debt capital markets loan syndication. Fitzgerald was formerly the bank’s head of loan syndications.

The changes reflect a broader reformation of the bank’s debt capital markets business under Mark Grant, the division’s head. Fitzgerald said it would allow syndication teams to be segmented by market sector. Meanwhile, the bank’s primary loan distribution team will also be merged with loan sales and trading, reporting to Gordon Craigen, head of loan sales and trading.
