BNP Paribas strengthens European fixed-income team

BNP Paribas has made three new appointments within the fixed-income team of its debt capital markets financial institutions group (DCM FIG).

Kai Harden has joined the bank as London-based co-head of the Germany, Austria and Switzerland department. He holds this position together with Menko Jaekel and reports to Anthony Fane, head of DCM FIG Europe. Harden joins BNP Paribas from Goldman Sachs, where he was an executive director within the European financing group.

Franck Viort and Ric Engelbert have joined the team as senior marketers, covering France and Benelux respectively. Both are based in London, reporting to Christopher Drennen, head of DCM FIG France and Benelux.

Viort joins BNP Paribas from RBS in London, where he had been a director since 2005, covering the full spectrum of capital and financing products. Engelbert has transferred from BNP Paribas’s global risk solutions team, where he originated structured capital markets products for clients in the Netherlands.

In their new positions, Harden, Viort and Engelberg will be responsible for marketing new issue products, including hybrid capital and subordinated debt, as well as more complex fixed-income products associated with portfolio and risk management, and capital and ALM management.
