Linklaters bolsters New York derivatives practice

Law firm Linklaters has hired Stan Renas as a partner in its structured finance and derivatives practice in New York. He will report to Adam Glass, who is a partner and head of the group.

"Stan’s experience, particularly with collateralised loan obligations, and in insurance product transactions and off-balance-sheet financings, will increase the versatility of our team,” said Nick Eastwell, a London–based managing partner and global head of capital markets at Linklaters.Renas has previously worked at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. He is the fourth partner to join the US team since its establishment in August 2004. The other three are Glass, who joined from Sidley Austin Brown & Wood in August 2004; Gary Barnett, who joined from Shearman & Sterling in September 2004; and Caird Forbes-Cockell, who has been with the firm for more than 20 years.
