GFI promotes two new European heads

New York-based interdealer broker GFI has appointed Julian Swain as head of its London operations, replacing Steve McMillan, who has left the company.

Swain has been the managing director of European operations since July last year; prior to that he was head of GFI's European credit products group.

Marc Souffir has been promoted to head of GFI’s Paris operations, which he has been setting up since the end of 2005 as GFI's London-based managing director for equity and financial futures, Europe. Before joining GFI he was the managing director of Refco’s Paris office.

Both will report to Colin Heffron, GFI’s president.
