US insurer hires credit derivatives specialist

American Capital Access (ACA), a US financial insurance specialist, has hired Joseph Pimbley as its credit derivatives portfolio manager.

The New York-based insurer lured Pimbley from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, where he was credit derivatives product manager responsible for building the Japanese bank’s US credit derivatives operation.

Pimbley will report directly to Maryam Muessel, chief operating officer and head of structured finance at ACA. Pimbley’s depth of experience with credit derivatives will prove invaluable in the management of ACA’s expanding credit derivatives portfolio, said Muessel.

ACA was founded in 1997 and provides financial insurance and related products. It specialises in using structured finance and credit enhancement to manage risk.
