JP Morgan makes senior appointment in pensions advisory group

JP Morgan has announced the appointment of Kevin Carter as managing director and head of the investment bank’s pension advisory group for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Carter, who also joins the investment bank’s pension steering committee, will be based in London and starts on November 1.

He joins from Watson Wyatt, where he was a senior investment consultant and head of European investment practice. Carter has also worked at Old Mutual, where he was sequentially chief executive officer for Old Mutual Asset Managers in the US and UK. He has also served as a director for the United Kingdom Society of Investment Professionals and for various UK-based investment trusts and funds.

Ed Giera, global head of the pension advisory group at JP Morgan, said: “Kevin will add substantial management experience in developing and executing our strategy across EMEA.”

Carter, who reports to Giera, has a PhD in Finance from the University of Cape Town and is a graduate of the Witwatersrand Graduate Business School in South Africa.
