Users are finding the uncertainty in GenAI models is hard to measure

Earlier this year, Matthew Dixon, a quant and academic who has been working on problems related to the trustworthiness of large language models (LLMs), wanted to probe just how reliable or not the models could be. He tried an experiment in which he asked OpenAI’s GPT-4.1 Mini to predict the mood in the US stock market over the coming five days.
