Former JP Morgan head of AI research says open-ended enquiry will unlock technology’s full potential

Manuela Veloso, the former head of artificial intelligence research at JP Morgan, is comparing the arrival of AI to an earlier general-purpose technology – electricity – which, too, faced its doubters.
