US G-Sibs’ trading assets hit record $3.6 trillion

JPM, Goldman, Citi and Morgan Stanley drive $520 billion quarterly increase amid turbulent markets

US G-Sibs held $3.58 trillion in trading assets at the end of the first quarter, up 17% from three months earlier and the highest level on record.

Over the same time period, trading liabilities swelled 18.6% to a record $1.17 trillion across the eight megabanks.
