CFTC operational resilience rules have ‘no chance’ of revival

Commissioner Johnson touts framework as response to Ion hack, but lawyers say it misses target

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s proposed operational resilience framework is very unlikely to be finalised by the current administration, say industry sources.

Outgoing CFTC commissioner Kristin Johnson, whose last day at the regulator was on September 3, called for the December 2023 proposal to be revived just weeks before her departure.

“There’s no chance of the operational resilience
