Nine jurisdictions yet to finalise Basel III rules
Turkey and South Africa worst laggards, with no final drafts published
Twenty-one months after the January 1, 2023, deadline for the final Basel III rules, almost half of jurisdictions have rules still in the draft phase, and nearly three-quarters have some that banks have yet to implement.
Turkey and South Africa were the worst performers on the set of eight revised standards finalised in 2017, with neither country having published final versions of any of the rules
