Exelon-Constellation merger edges closer to completion

On the back of further regulatory approvals, the creation of the largest competitive energy provider in the US is now looming ever closer

US electricity firm Exelon Corporation is edging ever closer to the completion of its merger with Constellation Energy Group (CEG), despite attempts to halt it by EDF Energy. Last week, the New York Public Service Commission cleared the merger, and the State of Maryland Governor, Martin O'Malley publicly backed it, meaning the deal is now highly likely to be approved by the Maryland Public Service
