Alpiq expands electricity presence in Spain
Atel Energía, the Spanish subsidiary of Swiss energy company Alpiq Group, has purchased Hispaelec, EDF's sales company in Spain, as part of its progressive expansion in central Europe.
Atel Energía has been pushing electricity sales in Spain. After the acquisition it will be the biggest energy provider in Spain outside of the traditional Spanish electricity companies.
