March 2006 - EFET Survey - Could do better

Gas transmission access systems across Europe must be improved significantly before efficient trading can take place, say gas traders in a recent poll conducted by the European Federation of Energy Traders

During a six-month study carried out by the European Federation of Energy Traders, gas traders were asked to evaluate using a scorecard approach, the major gas transmission systems in Europe.

The results showed that traders feel transmission systems operators (TSOs) can do a lot more to develop a transparent and liquid wholesale gas market throughout Europe, says EFET. The evaluation also showed
