Personel issues at UBS this week show how people risk can translate into business risk

UBS faced a fresh wave of problems this week, with some employees being detailed by US law enforcement, and others leaving the firm for greener pastures.

The bank has been reported as facing an acute personnel shortage at its London wealth management business. The unit manages $9 billion in assets but has reportedly lost around two thirds of its asset managers – headhunted by rival firms.
