HSBC builds high yield
HSBC is building a high-yield team with bankers poached from rivals Barclays Capital and Morgan Stanley. Julien Gurcel, formerly of Barclays Capital in London, will lead the new team as head of European high-yield origination when he joins the bank in early July. His hire follows the appointment of Chris Zilla from Morgan Stanley as a senior high-yield trader in Hong Kong.
