Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic), the petrochemicals producer, has completed its third public Shariah-compliant financing exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sukuk, led by HSBC Saudi Arabia and Calyon Saudi Fransi, is only the Kingdom's fourth such deal; the only other borrower in that market so far is Saudi Electrical Company. Sabic's debut sukuk, in July 2006, was the Kingdom's first in public format.
