Citi rebuilds Asia commodities team

Citigroup has made several hires to its commodities team in Singapore. The US bank has been looking to build up the division since the departure to Merrill Lynch in April 2005 of commodities head Mark Long and most of his team.

Aseem Agarwal will start next week as a commodities structurer, moving from the World Bank in Washington, DC, where he was in the group responsible for the $225 billion multi-currency portfolio.

Terry Yang, meanwhile, joined as energy marketer in late July from industrial group Mitsui & Co in London, where he was an energy marketer. He also formely worked for Citigroup in Taiwan.
