EDF and RasGas sign LNG supply deal

Utility EDF, through its subsidiary EDF Trading, has signed a liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply contract with Qatari company Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas (RasGas).

The four and a half year deal, with flexibility for interruptible deliveries of up to 3.4million tonnes of LNG per year, is equivalent to approximately 4.5billion cubic metres of natural gas per year.

The LNG, sourced from one of RasGas’s existing LNG production trains in Qatar, will be delivered ex-ship at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal in Belgium.

The contract marks the establishment of a long-term
