New registry will guarantee carbon offset credits

Caisse des Dépôts, a AAA-rated financial security centre, has launched a Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) registry for the voluntary carbon emissions offset market.

The VCS registry is part of the benchmark standard, established by the Voluntary Carbon Standard Association (VCSA), which guarantees transparency in securing and tracking carbon credits.

The registry will be used by a variety of market participants including: project promoters (issuers), offsetters (intermediaries) as well as companies and public authorities (buyers).
