Enel goes green in China

Italian utility Enel has signed two agreements in China, one to develop Chinese clean coal and carbon capture and storage projects, the other to purchase over 11 million certified emission reduction (CER) credits from green projects in the Chinese steel industry.

Enel, along with the Italian Ministry for the Environment, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, which will enable Enel to cooperate in R&D activities aimed at promoting the use of clean coal technologies in China.
