World Energy to host RGGI carbon allowance auction
US online exchange operator World Energy has signed a contract with RGGI Inc – an administrative subsidiary of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) – to host its first auction for regional carbon dioxide (CO2) allowances.
The auction will be held on 25 September this year and will be followed by a series of quarterly auctions. World Energy will conduct the auction on its online auction software, which has been adapted to meet RGGI’s auction design specifications.
The company, which is headquartered in Massachusetts, has seven years experience of running auctions within the green markets and has conducted auctions
