Enron veteran quits rates IT role at UBS

Jay Webb, a managing director for fixed-income rates and currencies derivatives IT at UBS, has resigned, bank officials have confirmed.

Webb joined UBS when it purchased Enron’s energy trading business. There was speculation at the time that UBS would try to use Enron Online’s technology to trade other financial products, such as derivatives.

At Enron, Webb was director of energy trading systems, and built an energy commodities trade-management system for the Enron Capital & Trade Resources division.

UBS officials were unable to give details of Webb’s replacement.
