UBS adds to Taiwan equity risk management team

UBS has boosted its equity risk management team in Hong Kong with the appointment of Alex Chi as executive director.

Reporting to Chi-Won Yoon, head of Asian equity risk management at UBS, Chi will be responsible for marketing Taiwanese derivatives products in the region.

“Alex’s experience marketing a range of products – including equities, currencies, interest rates and credit derivatives – to major corporates in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China will be invaluable,” said Yoon. He added that Chi would have a secondary role working with Matthew Koder, head of equity capital markets group to enhance the firm’s equity and equity-linked franchise with major corporate clients in the region.

Chi joins the bank from Macronix International, a Taiwan-based dual-listed semiconductor manufacturer, where he was a special assistant to the company's president.

Prior to that, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston as a regional corporate derivatives marketer and investment banker, and most recently, head of financial products marketing in China.
